Read the file.
Not just the figures.

OCR extracts what a page says. Arithmetic checks whether its numbers reconcile. Neither, on its own, establishes how that document was made or changed.

01

Look beyond balanced totals

Examine applicable typographic, layout and structural inconsistencies—even when the figures reconcile and the page looks plausible.

02

Trace the document’s history

Inspect metadata, file construction and retained revision traces. Separate what the file records from what its visible dates suggest.

03

Inspect the supporting evidence

Review material findings with source-bound evidence, original-file identity, completed coverage and limitations. Download the same findings as a forensic PDF.

02 / CP575 forensics and EIN verification

Look beyond
the name match.

EIN verification must accommodate legitimate input variations. Making a name match stricter can reject the right business; making it too permissive can miss a different one.

The matching tradeoffCP575 / EIN LETTERS

Another route to verification: examine the letter.

Allow for legitimate input variation
An applicant may enter “L.L.C.” where the name recorded when the EIN was issued uses “LLC.” A stricter match can turn an ordinary formatting difference into a false rejection.
Keep material entity differences in view
That punctuation variation is different from “LLC” versus “Inc.” A permissive comparison can blur a distinction between different legal entities. Raising the matching threshold alone does not resolve both problems.
Examine the CP575 itself
Ultiwrite Forensics examines the letter’s construction, typography, layout, metadata and retained editing traces. Document-level evidence adds another way to assess the submitted EIN documentation beyond a name match.
